Peru BeeKeeping Project History

Program Name: Beekeeping in the Andean-Amazonian Andes

Project: Installation of beehives in Andean-Amazonian communities with small-scale coffee producers.

Brief Introduction: Beekeeping is an activity that is not visible to the naked eye in rural communities; however, it is of great importance to ensure the continuity of the habitat and biological diversity, as well as generating income for families, and also fulfilling nutritional and medicinal functions. Since 2019, we have been supporting coffee-growing families in installing beehives for beekeeping and honey production, as well as training leaders in managing beekeeping activities, including harvesting and marketing.
